It’s crucial to make sure the space is spotless when you leave a rented company location. You must do an end-of-lease clean to leave the space in the same condition as you found it in order to receive your security deposit.

It might be difficult to know where to begin, especially if you’ve never performed a comprehensive deep clean before. There are a lot of misunderstandings and myths about end-of-lease cleaning.

That is why we’ve created a move-out cleaning checklist for companies to make the process easier and enable you to start cleaning efficiently from top to bottom.

Essential Office Move-Out Cleaning Tasks Checklist

1. Dusting and Vacuuming

Dusting and vacuuming every surface and fixture is the first step in office end-of-lease cleaning. There will likely be numerous areas of your rented business space with dust, filth, trash, and pollutants once all the furniture, machinery, and other objects have been removed.

Get microfiber cleaning supplies and a high-performance hoover cleaner with a variety of attachments to carry out these tasks easily.

2. Floor Cleaning

Flooring can be of multiple types like carpet, tile, hardwood etc. We have covered two popular floor types here:

2.1 Carpet Cleaning:

  • 1/4th teaspoon of a clear liquid detergent should be dissolved in 1 cup of warm water.
  • Apply the solution using a spray bottle, then wipe the spot with a dry white towel.
  • Spray lukewarm water over the stain, and then wipe with a dry white towel.
  • Continue with each step until the stain is gone.

2.2 Cleaning Tile Floors:

  • Regularly sweep to get rid of dirt and trash. Never mop before sweeping.
  • To avoid mopping yourself into a corner, decide on your “mopping strategy” before you start. Make regular water changes. Your company’s floors will seem unclean after mopping with soiled water.
  • Use a clean towel to buff your floors dry.

3. Washroom Cleaning

Your workplace toilet has to be thoroughly cleaned in every area. To clean up this area, you must:

  • Sanitise the showers, including the faucets (if applicable)
  • Toilets should be spotless, even the toilet bowls
  • Clean the faucets and sinks.
  • Clean any cabinets.
  • Clean any mirrors.
  • Clean any light fixtures.
  • All hot towel radiators should be polished using a specific cleaner.
  • Clean any hand dryers, hand towel dispensers, and/or soap dispensers.

4. Meeting Room Cleaning

Similar to the staff room and community areas, meeting rooms might not always need to be thoroughly cleaned. In the conference rooms, focus on cleaning:

  • Fireplaces, if any (if there is any fireplace in the room)
  • Lighting fixtures and dust skirting boards
  • Clean any fitted cabinets within.
  • Clean off the fitted cabinet doors.
  • Clean the tables.
  • Any upholstered furniture, hoover it.
  • Dust any other surfaces.

5. Window Cleaning

To establish a productive workspace, clear the area surrounding the window panel of any setups or clutter.

  • Dust the glass and the entire pane to remove surface buildups.
  • To get rid of the dust, wet the corner using a sprayer.
  • Keep the solutions prepared and use a sprayer or even a microfiber cloth to gently apply them to the surface.
  • After cleaning, carefully wipe the solution off the window using paper towels.
  • Use water only when it is necessary to do so according to the instructions for using the particular solution you are using.
  • Use a little additional solution and clean the area in a circular motion if you notice any streaks.
  • Experience is the only way to perfect the cleaning pattern.

6. Corridor Cleaning

For cleaning of corridor is clean, you must:

  • Use a feather brush to thoroughly sweep the corridor from corner to corner.
  • Use a duster to dust the edges and fittings.
